Glendale firefighter William Jensen, critically burned Oct. 22 in the Malibu wildfire, celebrated Christmas in the hospital surrounded by 40 family members and friends, a hospital spokesman said.
Jensen and his family and friends were provided with “a complete traditional Christmas dinner” at the Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital, provided by a Burbank restaurant, hospital spokesman Larry Weinberg said.
Jensen, who is listed in good condition, on Monday underwent his 12th surgical procedure since he was hospitalized Oct. 22, Weinberg said.
Jensen suffered second- and third-degree burns over 70% of his body when he and other firefighters were trapped by a wall of flames. Two other firemen hospitalized with Jensen have been released.
Weinberg said doctors “were looking at mid-January as a possible release date” for Jensen.
