Doctor Convicted of Perjury for Lying About Credentials

A physician who treated motorist Rodney G. King after King’s 1991 beating by Los Angeles police has been convicted of three felony counts of perjury.
Edmund Y.M. Chein was convicted Monday by a Los Angeles Superior Court jury that also acquitted him of one other count.
The case involved allegations that Chein misrepresented his credentials when testifying as an expert witness in civil suits.
Judge Lance A. Ito scheduled sentencing for March 14.
