From Times Wire Reports
The drone of noisy leaf blowers soon will be silenced in residential neighborhoods.
The City Council has approved an ordinance outlawing the devices, starting in about 120 days. The blowers will continue to be used by city crews in commercial areas and in open space, however.
The city plans to replace its current blowers with quieter gas-powered models. About 20 other cities statewide already have banned use of such devices on city streets.
