This 7.7-acre estate in the heart of Montecito’s Golden Quadrangle was built on the former grounds of the Pillsbury estate, owned by the Pillsbury milling family that was based in the Midwest.

After acquiring the property in the 1980s, the current owners, an L.A. businessman and his wife, had the Pillsbury home, built in the late 1800s, torn down.

The couple hired L.A. designer Michael Smith to create this estate, which was completed in 1997. Now Smith is designing another estate for the couple on a property they purchased in Malibu.

Features: The property, which has ocean and mountain views, also has a pool, a tennis court, a lily pond, water gardens and a quarter-mile-long drive from the street to its motor court.
